Today makes ten gallons. I went with an American Pale Wheat Ale of my own devising. This was a little more challenging than normal since my phone app that I use for calculations updated itself and now crashes whenever I try to open it. Therefore I had to do all my own calculations. Below are a few

It was a good brew day I picked up my supplies this morning and ate lunch with Leif. Started brewing alet, around 1 o’clock. I drank a few beers, played a few games of connect four, took some videos of Holly frogging her knitting, spilled a few grains, did some stirring, and voilà, I have beer. My OG was right on. 1.051. Assuming my efficiency was correct and I get decent attenuation, I should end with a FG of 1.011. Let’s see what happens shall we?

70% eff

.78 Attenuation

OG:  1.050 – 250 points

Wheat LME ( 1.036 ) : 35% = 87.5 points = 87.5 ÷ 36 ÷ .7 = 3.47 lbs

two row ( 1.036 ):  35% = 87.5 points = 87.5 ÷ 36 ÷ .7 = 3.47 lbs

Honey male ( 1.034 ): 5% = 12.5 points = 12.5 ÷ 34 ÷ .7 = .53 lbs

White Wheat ( 1.038 ): 25% = 62.5 points = 62.5 ÷ 38 ÷ .7 = 2.35

FG = OG – (A  x OG )

FG = 50 – (.78 x 50)

FG = 1.011

ABV (1.05 x (1.050-1.011)/1.011/.79) x 100= 5.1% abv
