English Pale Ale

English Pale Ale

Posted on Feb 3, 2017

This was just a beer that I needed to make to have beer in the keg. I was a little impatient to drink it and tapped it a bit soon. After two weeks, this beer cleared up and smoothed out very nicely. The color turned out really rich pleasant to look at. I was thinking it would be a bit bitter for me, but really it’s balanced really well for an English pale, leaning on the bitter side as it should. You get a pleasant hint of...

Vader’s Morning Brew: Re-brewed

Posted on Sep 5, 2016

This is my second go around for Vader’s Morning Brew. I think this is a recipe I must perfect. I don’t often repeat recipes I create, as I like to change things up and experiment with ingredients and their combinations. But this brew is different. It’s a beautiful blend of coffee, coconut, and vanilla. The flavor is robust and grand and not for the faint of heart. Despite the oils from the coconut, the head on this...

I worked out the water amounts, boiling times, rest lengths, rest temperatures,...

Qui-Gon’s Noble

Inspired by the one and only Qui-Gon, this beer is a beautiful blend of maltiness, hop aroma, and bitterness. The aroma is a combination of the smooth malt and aromatic hops. The noble hops, Saaz, takes the lead and adds a clean herbal and spicy aroma that accentuates the smoothness of the beer. The malt balances that with a hint of sweetness that makes it almost indistinguishable from the hops. The color is a brilliant red color that...

Cristal Variant

I think this beer fits fairly closely to the category of Belgian Pale Ale. It definitely has a strong aroma. It’s a very lovely fruity/citrusy aroma. Its a light amber color with a clarity that is quite impressive for a non-filtered beer. It’s a light-medium bodied beer. Made up mostly of pilsner malt it is moderately malty and easily drinkable. There is very little bitterness from hops, but has an abundance of lovely...
